Akashdeep Singh v Jaslyn Co. Limited

Akashdeep Singh, recruited in India, brought claims in the Employment Relations Authority against Jaslyn Co, Ariana Enterprises, their restaurant manager Bhupinder Kaur and one other respondent over a payment for his job, his wages and the end of his employment. The Authority ordered Ms Kaur to repay an unlawful premium, ordered both companies to pay wage arrears and upheld a disadvantage grievance against Ariana Enterprises. The companies and Ms Kaur challenged the determination in the Employment Court, which set the determination aside by consent after the parties settled.
