Corey Van der Hulst v Barton Dairies Limited

Mr Van der Hulst, a former assistant farm manager, brought personal grievance and wage claims in the Employment Relations Authority against Barton Dairies Limited after the company dismissed him under a 90-day trial provision. The Authority did not uphold his grievances but ordered the company to pay the shortfall against a 20-hour weekly minimum, with holiday pay. Mr Van der Hulst challenged the determination in the Employment Court, where the parties settled and the Court set the determination aside by consent.
