David Hannah v The Salvation Army New Zealand Trust

David Hannah brought a personal grievance for unjustified dismissal against The Salvation Army New Zealand Trust, which summarily dismissed him after a workplace incident in which he admitted pushing a team leader and calling her a derogatory slur. The Authority found the dismissal justified and ordered costs against him. On challenge, the Employment Court found the dismissal unjustified for procedural unfairness, awarded no remedies, and set the determination aside.
