Wuji Jin v Precision NZ Limited
A carpenter, Wuji Jin, claimed unpaid wages and holiday entitlements, personal grievances for constructive dismissal and unjustified disadvantage, and penalties against Precision NZ Limited and its director, Alex Zhang. The Employment Relations Authority awarded wage arrears and held the grievance and penalty claims out of time. On a challenge, the Employment Court granted leave to raise the grievances late and upheld both, while the penalty claims stayed time-barred, and it then decided costs.
