VXO v Northland District Health Board

A senior hospital doctor claimed he had been unjustifiably dismissed and unjustifiably disadvantaged by the health board that employed him. A junior colleague's complaint about his conduct led to an investigation and a proposed dismissal for serious misconduct; that process was paused when he became unwell, and he was later dismissed for medical incapacity. The Authority dismissed every claim and awarded costs against him, the Employment Court dismissed his challenge, and the Court of Appeal declined leave to appeal; names in this matter are suppressed.
