Suhee Lee v Yamaya NZ Limited

Suhee Lee, a part-time worker in a sushi shop, brought personal grievance, wage arrears and penalty claims against her former employer, Yamaya NZ Limited. The Authority found she had been unjustifiably disadvantaged and unjustifiably dismissed, then fixed costs and a payment plan; the company challenged that later determination in the Employment Court but discontinued the challenge and was ordered to pay costs. The matter then returned to the Authority, which made compliance orders against the company and its directors.
