A Labour Inspector v Elements Therapeutic Massage Limited

A Labour Inspector brought minimum-entitlement claims against Elements Therapeutic Massage Limited, which ran a massage salon in Dunedin, and sought to hold its director Xuan Zhang and its manager Ping Du liable as persons involved in the breaches. The Authority imposed penalties on both men but ordered arrears against Mr Zhang only, and later decided costs twice. In the Employment Court the Labour Inspector was granted an extension of time to challenge the first determination, followed by a consent stay and a costs judgment in Mr Du's favour.
