Shaun Cameron Hendy and Siouxsie Wiles v The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Auckland

Two University of Auckland academics who gave public commentary during the COVID-19 pandemic, and were harassed for it, claimed their employer had not acted to protect them. The Authority removed both claims to the Employment Court to be heard at first instance. By the time the Court heard the matter one claim had been discontinued; the Court upheld the other, finding breaches of the employer's health and safety, good faith and good employer obligations, and the Court of Appeal later declined leave to appeal.
