GF v New Zealand Customs Service
GF, employed on a fixed-term agreement in a border protection role by a public service organisation, claimed unjustified dismissal and disadvantage after the employer ended GF's employment because GF was not vaccinated against COVID-19. The Authority dismissed the claims, and GF challenged that determination in the Employment Court. The Court found GF unjustifiably dismissed and disadvantaged, recorded a breach of good faith, and awarded compensation and lost wages.
