Celia Popkin v Innovative Landscapes (2015) Limited

Celia Popkin, a landscape architect, was made redundant when her employer, a landscaping company, closed its business. The Authority found the redundancy genuine but the dismissal unjustified because of the process followed, and the Employment Court reached the same result on the company's challenge, rejecting its argument that its finances warranted lower compensation. Costs were then awarded in both forums for her representation by a community law centre.
