Suzette Martin v Northland Education Trust Inc
Suzette Martin, a teacher of English, claimed that Northland Education Trust Inc, which operates a school of special character based on particular religious beliefs, dismissed her unjustifiably after she used a teaching text that the trustees had not approved. The Employment Relations Authority found the dismissal justified and ordered her to contribute to the Trust's costs. On her challenge, the Employment Court set the Authority's determination aside, found the dismissal unjustified and awarded remedies.
